The Cincinnati Bengals have made a signing which should go a long way in improving their offensive line, having signed Pro Bowl offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. to a four-year deal this week.
Brown, 26, is coming off a Super Bowl-winning season, having played for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022. His deal with Cincinnati is worth $64 million.
The former Oklahoma star is expected to protect Joe Burrow’s blind side after playing under the franchise tag for the Chiefs last term. But, with one OT coming in, another one wants out.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Jonah Williams has requested a trade. Williams started 16 games for the Bengals at left tackle last season and helped the team reach the AFC Championship Game, where they lost to the Chiefs.
It appears the 25-year-old is keen on increasing his value ahead of his own free agency but, whether or not the Bengals will acquiesce is unknown. Should they allow him permission to speak to other teams, we imagine he will have plenty of suitors.
Williams was selected 11th overall by the Bengals in 2019 but didn’t play during his rookie season as he suffered a shoulder injury during OTAs that required surgery. He started 10 out of 12 games the following term, missing the other fixtures due to other injuries.
