The Cincinnati Bengals showcased how ruthless playing running back in the NFL can truly be when it was announced they were cutting Joe Mixon on Monday. That came after they immediately replaced him with former Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss.
It turns out there was a major plot twist.
On Tuesday morning, the Bengals changed their minds and traded their running back to the Houston Texans instead.

Mixon ranks third in Bengals history in rushing yards (6,412) and second in rushing touchdowns (49).
His 6,412 career rushing yards since entering the NFL in 2017 as a second-round pick out of Oklahoma are the fourth-most in the league in that span.

His numbers might be even better as he will now be in a backfield with standout quarterback CJ Stroud. The Texans had just lost starting running back Devin Singletary in free agency to the New York Giants so this was a nice pickup for them.
