The Green Bay Packers’ have injuries to key two players that bears monitoring over these next few days.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Green Bay sophomore wideouts Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs missed practice on Wednesday because of hamstring injuries. The Packers will open their season with a road contest against the archrival Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on Sunday.
Hamstring injuries are worrisome and frustrating because the pain often lasts a lengthy period, and they’re often reaggravated. For example, Seattle Seahawks’ rookie wideout Jaxon Smith-Njigba was limited to just three games in his final season at Ohio State because of a lingering hamstring injury.
The Los Angeles Rams have already ruled out star wide receiver Cooper Kupp for Sunday’s Week 1 road game against the Seattle Seahawks because of a hamstring injury.
If Watson and Doubs both miss Sunday’s game in the Windy City, this will leave Jordan Love (making just his second career start) with rookie Jayden Reed as his No. 1 pass-catcher. Green Bay’s leading receiver of 2022, Allen Lazard, joined the New York Jets and eventually reunited with Aaron Rodgers.
