The Carolina Panthers continue to search for a wide receiver following their poor start to the season and are reported to have made a speculative call to the Green Bay Packers with Christian Watson the subject of interest, according to MLFootball.
Having lost all five of their games so far this term, Carolina remains keen on acquiring a top wide receiver target for rookie quarterback Bryce Young. However, it’s probably already too late to put together a run that will get them to the playoffs, especially as all five of their losses have come against NFC opponents, while they’re not stacked with draft capital after trading for Chicago’s No.1 pick earlier in the year.
Still, they’re said to be making calls around the NFL.
The Packers are understood to have no interest in dealing Watson amid the Panthers’ search for a pass-catching option for their young QB. Young has struggled in his first pro season with the Panthers, but they’re said to be confident in his ability to fire them to success.
“No. 1, they know they don’t have enough weapons for Bryce Young,” Schultz reported last week. “But No. 2, they believe so much in Bryce Young, the Panthers do, Scott Fitterer, head coach Frank Reich, they want to go all in and double down this season.”
Carolina could have a difficult time securing a top WR and, complicating matters even further is the fact that they don’t have a first-round pick in next year’s draft.

Should they pull off a trade at some point, it would be considered a major win.
