Since the firing of head coach Matt Rhule, Carolina Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey has been the subject of trade rumors.
The team is going nowhere in 2022 and is currently in the midst of a rebuild.
On Wednesday, McCaffrey met with reporters where he was asked about the trade rumors. “[I’m] keeping that away from me,” McCaffrey said, via Joe Person of TheAthletic.com.
“That’s out of my control. I’m trying to control everything I can control, and that’s having a great meeting here next. Right now I’m a Carolina Panther and I’m giving my all to this place.”
Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reported this week that the Broncos, 49ers, Rams and Bills are among the teams that have shown “varying degrees of interest” in potential trades for RB Christian McCaffrey.
The Panthers reportedly turned down at least two teams’ inquiries about a potential deal for McCaffrey last week and they plan to do the same for offers they believe are not “significant.”

The Panthers are looking for “a high draft pick or multiple picks” in return for McCaffrey.
When healthy, the 26-year-old is one of the better running backs in the entire league. The only problem is that he is rarely ever healthy, which is why no team is likely to drop multiple draft picks for him.
In 2022, McCaffrey has appeared in five games for the Panthers and rushed for 324 yards to go along with 26 receptions for 188 yards receiving and three total touchdowns.
