Christian McCaffrey is still bitter over his NFC Championship loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last month and says he might not even watch the Super Bowl.
The San Francisco 49ers running back had quite a tough time against the Eagles’ defense and even had to slot in as a quarterback at one point after injuries to both the starting and backup QB.
The Eagles are now set to face the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl on Sunday, and McCaffrey is hoping for a situation in which they both lose.
Speaking to NFL Network’s Andrew Siciliano, the two-time Pro Bowl star insisted that it doesn’t matter who wins on Sunday, though the 49ers badly wish they were the ones playing.
“That game still hurts, and it will for a while,” he admitted. “I don’t know if I’m gonna watch the game, might hurt too much.”
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase said he was in total agreement with McCaffrey when he was informed of the RB’s response on the show.

McCaffrey also revealed he was not lobbying to get put in as a QB against the Eagles on the sidelines but was willing to do whatever was asked of him.
