San Francisco 49ers quarterback isn’t at the point where he could splurge on gifts for his teammates as yet. Fortunately enough, Christian McCaffrey is.
The star running back is having a remarkable season for the Niners and that’s partly due to his offensive teammates, whom he rewarded with some pricey gifts ahead of Christmas.
Each member of the San Francisco offense received a custom golf bag along with a certificate for fitted clubs and a bottle of tequila following practice on Friday.
Purdy, also on the receiving end of McCaffrey’s kindness, joked about his financial situation when speaking to reporters.
“Financially, I wouldn’t be able to cover that right now,” he quipped. “Shout-out to him. Everyone loved it. So, thank you, Christian.”
The QB is still on a rookie deal that has him earning $870,000 this season and $985,000 in 2024. That he couldn’t spend as lavishly on his teammates is understandable.

Earlier this year, Purdy revealed he’s still splitting rent with a roommate. However, he could expect a huge jump in pay given his performances as a starter. Winning the MVP battle would help a whole lot too.
