Christian McCaffrey is having a wonderful season.
The Carolina Panthers star running back currently has 866 scrimmage yards which has him on pace for 2,771 over a 16-game season. If he achieves that, that would shatter Chris Johnson’s 2,509 yards that was set just 10 seasons ago with the Tennessee Titans.
If that isn’t impressive enough, the McCaffrey is out-dueling elite and highly paid running backs Ezekiel Elliott and Todd Gurley, in combined scrimmage yards through the season’s first five weeks.
If that still doesn’t do it for you, McCaffrey’s 866 scrimmage yards are more than what the entire New York Jets team, whose offensive total is 718 yards. To be fair, the Jets just had their bye week in Week 4.
Christian McCaffrey has more than made up for Cam Newton’s absence since his foot injury, averaging 201.3 scrimmage yards per game, while scoring a combined five touchdowns.
