After not seeing much of Christian McCaffrey on the field, the last thing Panthers fans want to see is the talented running back on the ground before games actually start to count.
McCaffrey, arguably the league’s best running back, has struggled to stay healthy in recent seasons. The All-Pro tailback had a frightening moment on Wednesday when he made a catch in practice and collided with a photographer.
“Christian McCaffrey just made a grab near the sideline and collided with a team photographer stationed about 10 feet off the sideline. CMC is fine but appeared a little annoyed. Immediately coaches yelled “get off the sideline!’” Steve Reed tweeted.
After his historic 2019 campaign and a major contract extension, McCaffrey has hardly seen the field. He has missed 23 of a possible 33 games over the past two seasons.
The last time McCaffrey played a full season was in 2019. He had 1,387 rushing yards, 15 rushing TDs, 116 receptions, 1,005 receiving yards, and four receiving TDs.
In just seven games last year, McCaffrey had 442 rushing yards and 343 receiving yards.
