The San Francisco 49ers provided injury updates on stars Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams ahead of Monday’s Week 7 clash with the Minnesota Vikings.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, McCaffrey is questionable for the contest as he continues to nurse an oblique/rib injury. Williams is doubtful with his ankle injury, and head coach Kyle Shanahan stated that Samuel will miss the next two games with a hairline fracture in his shoulder.
All three Pro Bowlers were injured in the club’s Week 6 road loss to the Cleveland Browns last Sunday. While Williams decided to play through the pain, McCaffrey and Samuel both left the game. The 19-17 defeat marked the 49ers’ first loss of the season.
McCaffrey is having another All-Pro-caliber season, with 553 rushing yards and seven touchdowns to go along with 23 catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns. McCaffrey has posted a whopping 1,940 yards of offense and 19 touchdowns in 17 regular season games with the 49ers.
The 49ers acquired McCaffrey in a trade deadline move with the Carolina Panthers last year. The 49ers have lost just two regular season games since the trade, with the first coming in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs last year.
