New England is bringing back former Patriot J.C. Jackson because they had a major injury on the team they had to deal with.
According to Ian Rapoport, Patriots first-round CB Christian Gonzalez will miss the remainder of his rookie season after he suffered a torn labrum after dislocating his shoulder this week.
Gonzalez was injured in last Sunday’s blowout loss to the Cowboys.
He is a huge loss as Gonzalez was the defensive rookie of the month for September and the team has already suffered a number of other injuries to their cornerback corps during their 1-3 start to the year. The 21-year-old had played all but one snap this season. It’s a tough blow for both the player and team.
Jackson, a former All-Pro, had not been an impact player this season with the Chargers as he has played two games, recording three tackles and an interception, and was a healthy scratch in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings.
In 2023, Gonzalez has appeared in four games for the Patriots and recorded 17 total tackles, one tackle for loss, one sack, one interception and three pass deflections.
