Tom Brady has long been considered the gold standard and G.O.A.T. when it comes to the quarterback position in NFL history. However, former quarterback and current analyst Chris Simms believes that Brady is in danger of losing his crown in the very near future.
While appearing on the Carton Show, Simms stated that he believes Patrick Mahomes is currently the best player in the NFL and that it is only a matter of time before he surpasses Brady as the greatest of all time.
Although Mahomes has had a terrific start to his career, he would need to sustain that excellence for a number of years before he can enter the G.O.A.T. conversation. Brady has won seven Super Bowls, more than any player in NFL history regardless of position.
In addition, Brady also holds every major passing record including most passes completed, most passing yards and most passing touchdowns in both regular season play as well as the playoffs.
Maybe one day Mahomes may be considered the best to ever do it, but for now, that title still belongs to Tom Brady and many of his supporters took to Twitter to remind Simms of his greatness.
