As soon as the Green Bay Packers fell to the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs, the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes officially begun.
Popular belief is this may finally be the offseason where the Packers and the reigning NFL MVP are forced to end their rocky relationship and part way. And according to former NFL quarterback-turned-NBC analyst, there appears to be one clear front-running for A-Rod’s services.
During his appearance on “Brother From Another,” Simms named the Denver Broncos as the “No. 1 team” in the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes, should the four-time MVP decide to leave Green Bay.
The Broncos were already expected to be major players in the run for Aaron Rodgers. In fact, there have been recent reports out of the Broncos’ camp that Denver has been trying to get into contact with someone from Green Bay to discuss a Rodgers trade, but no one will answer their calls.
Whether Rodgers leaves the Cheeseheads this offseason remains to be seen, but one things is for sure: Acquiring his services will not be cheap for any of his suitors.
