The San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins sent social media into a wirldwind with their unexpected draft trade.
ESPN reported the Dolphins are trading the No. 3 overall pick to the 49ers in exchange for the No.12 pick, a third-round pick and first-round picks in 2022 and 2023, a move that may signal San Francisco is in the market for a quarterback.
If they are, Chris Simms seems to think that the 49ers made this move to select the most NFL-ready QB in the draft: Mac Jones.
“49ers-Dolphins…Kyle Shanahan trying to control his own fate. You trade up to 3 for a QB who is NFL-ready right now, not a project. And to me that says Mac Jones.”

Friday’s blockbuster trade between Miami and San Francisco is a good indication that Garoppolo’s time might be up, but the team selecting Mac Jones to replace him seems farfetched.
