Video footage of New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave getting arrested has been released following the player getting taken into custody on Monday night.
The wideout was booked for reckless operation of a motor vehicle in Kenner, Louisiana on the night after being clocked driving at 70 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone. He was processed at the Kenner City Jail and has since been released.
Bodycam footage of the arrest has since been released by the authorities and can be seen below. At one point, Olave is heard asking officers whether he is really under arrest and then telling them he plays for the Saints. Clearly, they were not impressed.
This is the second time Olave has run afoul of the law this year because of his driving. He received a citation for driving at 54 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour-zone on August 21, per a Kenner Police Department press release.
According to Louisiana state law, reckless operation of a motor vehicle is anything amounting to actions considered “criminally negligent or reckless.”

Olave’s brother Josh got on social media with claims that the wideout was simply on his way back from CVS when he was pulled over, though it’s hardly justification for driving at 75 miles per hour in a 35-mile-per-hour zone.
