If you didn’t think Chris Long was retired before, he certainly is right now.
Now that former Philadelphia Eagles defensive end has officially hung up his cleats for good, he is speaking open and honestly about his marijuana use.
During an interview on The Dan Patrick Show Wednesday, Long revealed he did indeed smoke marijuana during his career, somehow escaping detection from the league.
“I certainly enjoyed my fair share on a regular basis through my career,” Long said. “If not for that, I’m not as capable of coping with the stresses of the day-to-day NFL life.”
The two-time Super Bowl champion did not mince any words when he decided to rip the league for their ridiculous testing on it.
“The league, speaking plainly, knows damn well what they’re doing. Testing players once a year for ‘street drugs,’ which is a terrible classification for marijuana, is kinda silly because players know when the test is. We can stop,” Long continued.

Now free of the league, Long can smoke as much as he wants to deal with any long-term injuries he suffered while playing the game at such a high level.
