Chris Harris Jr. is in no rush to sign with a new team this offseason.
The free-agent cornerback has a very good reason as to why he isn’t just signing with anybody.
Harris told Chris Tomasson of the Denver Gazette that he’s going to wait to sign a deal with the hope of catching on with a contender who has a chance of winning the Super Bowl.
“I want to wait and see what team has a great chance to win a Super Bowl and then try to hop on with them,” Harris said, per the Denver Gazette’s Chris Tomasson.
Harris, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Denver Broncos, made 29 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble in 10 games for the New Orleans Saints in 2022 after he was elevated to the 53-man roster after signing a practice squad deal.
“(Teams) pretty much know I’m not planning on doing any training camp or anything like that,” Harris said. “I’ll do the same thing I did last year. I’m not doing training camp and all that OTAs (organized team activities in the spring) and stuff like that anymore.”

Harris played nine seasons in Denver, where he won the Super Bowl in 2016, before moving on to the Los Angeles Clippers and the New Orleans Saints.
After 12 seasons as a cornerback, Harris believes that whichever team drafts him out of free agency may employ him at another position, such as safety.
The former undrafted free agent has put together an incredible career, earning four Pro Bowl nods and three All-Pro selections. Following his nine-year stint in Denver, Harris spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the Chargers before joining New Orleans last year.
