This offseason was looking real down for the Tampa Bay Bucs as they were looking to return to the oblivious franchise they once were before Tom Brady decided to bring his talents there and make them championship contenders for 2 years.
Tom Brady retired, rumors suggested he would be back, and then just over a month later, he did exactly that with his much anticipated retrun.
Chris Godwin was extremely excited about that news, because he knew about it some 20 minutes before it was announced.
Per PewterReport.com, “Bucs WR Chris Godwin says that Tom Brady texted him and Mike Evans letting them know he’s coming back about 20 minutes before he made the announcement. They’re in a small group chat. They were both gassed up about it.”
On Monday, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers kept their franchise player for at least another three seasons. Godwin has officially signed his new three-year contract extension with the Bucs.
The new pact will pay Godwin $60 million over those three seasons, with $40 million guaranteed.
