The Children’s Mercy Hospital has offered an important update regarding the young victims of the mass shooting incident that took place near Union Station while Chiefs fans celebrated the team’s Super Bowl victory.
One woman lost her life as a result of the gunfire, while 22 others were injured.
Said medical facility reported having opened its doors to 11 patients, with nine of them nursing gunshot wounds and all of them between the ages of six and 15. As of Friday night, only one patient remained.
In their latest update, the facility announced having “great news,” noting that all patients were officially discharged.
There are still multiple patients recovering at University Health Truman Medical Center and St. Luke’s Health System. The hospital received 12 patients, eight of whom had been shot. Three patients remained as of Friday evening.
“No changes since yesterday’s update,” University Health announced on Saturday. “[Three] shooting victims connected to Union Station remain at University Health. One is in critical condition and two are in stable [condition].”

The patient at St. Luke’s Health System was understood to be critically injured but is “now considered stable and progressing.”
