ChiefsAholic might be behind bars for a very long time.
A Kansas City Chiefs superfan known as “ChiefsAholic” who became famous for attending games dressed as a wolf in the NFL team’s gear has been indicted by a federal grand jury that accuses him of armed robbery and money laundering in a string of bank heists across four states that netted him almost $700,000.
Xaviar Babudar robbed six banks and tried to launder the proceeds at casinos and sportsbooks, according to the U.S. attorney for the Western District of Missouri.
According to the indictment, Babudar perpetrated a string of bank and credit union robberies throughout 2022 to attend Chiefs games. He was allegedly responsible for six robberies and two attempted robberies during a nine-month stretch between March and Dec. 2022.
He also placed various wagers on the outcomes of Chiefs games. During this time, the indictment says, Babudar did not report any wages earned in the states of Missouri or Kansas.
Authorities allege he stole more than $800,000 in total and purchased and redeemed more than $1 million in chips from various casinos. Some of his earnings came from betting on Patrick Mahomes to win NFL MVP and the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl.

Babudar was arrested last month for an alleged robbery in Iowa last year. He was initially arrested in Dec. 2022, but later cut his ankle monitor and fled the state while out on bond after winning $100,000 on bets from an Illinois sportsbook, according to the statement.
He was on the run for over three months before being captured by the FBI near Sacramento, California in July.
The charges he faces include three counts of armed bank robbery, one count of bank theft, 11 counts of money laundering, and four counts of transporting stolen property across state lines.
