Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman has broken his silence following accusations of leaking the Jets’ game plans to opponents last season.
Hardman has become the subject of much speculation following a deleted social media post from Jets cornerback Sauce Gardner which implies the wideout is suspected to have given the Eagles inside info.
“We ain’t gon talk about how our offensive gameplan got leaked vs. the Eagles,” the star CB wrote on Wednesday. SNY insider Connor Hughes followed that up with a report claiming “there was validated belief from the Jets.”
That’s a pretty serious accusation; it could make Hardman a pariah around the NFL if teams determine that it carries weight.
Mecole took to X to respond to the rumors on Friday afternoon.
“There were FALSE accusations made about me and MY CHARACTER,” he wrote. “To set the record straight, I have never and would never leak gameplans to another team. I have never been a person to give an opponent an upper hand I always want to win no matter the circumstances!!!!!”

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has advised the receiver to take legal action if the allegations are indeed false.
“If you are Mecole Hardman, if the Jets, if there is a hole in their argument. First of all, you’ve got to speak on that immediately,” Smith said. “That’s grounds for a lawsuit if they are false, because that’s a career-ender, y’all. That’s a career-ender. What locker room can he possibly go into if somebody believes it’s true? If evidence came out that this is remotely true, what locker room could he go in?”
Let’s see if anything more comes out of this.
