Isaiah Pacheco missed Chiefs practice on Wednesday, likely sparking some concern among fans given that the AFC Championship Game is right around the corner.
The running back is dealing with a toe injury – head coach Andy Reid revealed as much in front of reporters today. However, speaking in his own press conference, Pacheco claimed he would be good enough to play the Ravens on Sunday.
“Absolutely,” he said. “Working with the training room, just doing a great job in there. Just blessed to be a part of it and [will] continue to get better every day.”
Pacheco has been one of the more important cogs in the Chiefs offense this season. He has rushed for 186 yards and two touchdowns, also catching two passes for 13 yards, in the playoffs. He’s averaging 4.8 yards per carry.
KC would be at a major disadvantage without him in the lineup given how solid the Ravens have been defensively. But it appears his status is one less thing they will have to worry about heading into their most important game of the season to this point.
