The football world is used to Patrick Mahomes making the most impossible plays, well, possible.
Whether it’s a no-look throw, a dart while throwing across his body or the unforgettable “Jet Chip Wasp” in Super Bowl 54, Mahomes has always found a way to “wow” the NFL with something different.
Well, opposing defensive coordinators might want to prepare for another Mahomes specialty: The behind-the-back throw.
The Chiefs posted a video on their Twitter page of the 2022 league MVP attempting the (seemingly) impossible behind-the-back throw. The accuracy and velocity that he puts on the pass is utterly impressive, to say the least.
Last season, Mahomes became the first player to win regular season MVP honors and the Super Bowl in the same year since Kurt Warner, who accomplished the feat for the St. Louis Rams back in the 1999 season.
Mahomes led the Chiefs to 14-3 regular season record, tossing 5,250 passing yards and 41 touchdowns against just 12 interceptions. In the Super Bowl 57 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, Mahomes completed 21 of 27 pass attempts for 182 yards and three touchdowns.
