No player likes missing games, but when it’s the Super Bowl, it may be the worst time ever to miss out on that once-in-a-lifetime event.
It was entirely possible that Mecole Hardman could’ve turned a corner in the next few days, but as of right now, it appears he will not be taking the field in the Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver was listed as “doubtful” for this weekend’s Super Bowl.
Hardman has missed every single practice this week after suffering a pelvis injury during last weekend’s AFC Championship win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
On Monday, it was made official when the team placed him on injured reserve, which ended his season.
Injuries have been a problem for him all year. He missed the final nine games of the regular season and the Chiefs’ Divisional Round matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. When he returned to the field for the AFC Championship game, it would be short lived after hurting himself again. At this stage, the odds seem quite stacked against Hardman to really make much of an impact in the biggest game of the year.

In the 2022 season, Hardman recorded 25 receptions for 297 yards and four touchdowns while averaging 11.9 yards per catch.
The Chiefs will face off against the Philadelphia Eagles in this year’s Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 12.
