Fans are praying for Gracie Hunt following a heartbreaking family announcement.
Gracie, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, is in mourning because her grandmother, Chiefs matriarch Norma Hunt, has passed away. The team announced as much on Sunday night, with Norma passing at the age of 85.
The widow of Chiefs founder Lamar Hunt, Norma was the only woman who attended every Super Bowl in NFL history and was very involved with the team and its fans, as well as FC Dallas, the MLS franchise also owned by the Hunts.
“Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of our mother, Norma. She was a wonderful mother and an extraordinary woman who will be dearly missed by all who knew her,” the family announced.
Gracie took to Instagram to share a tribute of her own, posting several snaps of the two together, including photos from her infant years.
“My Mimi Norma was an absolute legend,” she wrote. “The only woman to see all 58 Super Bowls. With a precious Texas accent, she was humble, beautiful, brilliant, hilarious, joyful, fun and fierce. She was an eternal optimist, the best cheerleader and so much more. She was extraordinary.”
