The Kansas City Chiefs’ reportedly feared that the injury Travis Kelce suffered on Tuesday was season-ending.
According to FOX Sports’ NFL insider Jay Glazer, the Chiefs were worried that Kelce had a tibia plateau fracture that would have ended his season. It turned out to be a bad bone bruise, and Glazer added that he’ll play in Week 2 against the Jacksonville Jaguars as long as there’s no swelling.
Kelce also suffered a hyper-extended injury in Tuesday’s practice. He wasn’t ruled out of the Chiefs’ opening game against the Detroit Lions until hours before kickoff. The Chiefs lost their season opener 21-20 to the Lions, marking the team’s first Week 1 loss since 2014.
