Some observers noticed that a notable Kansas City Chiefs player wasn’t present at Wednesday’s Super Bowl 57 parade.
Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was not part of the (rowdy) festivities with his teammates, and fans were understandably curious as to why he wasn’t there. Turns out the LSU product had a darn good reason for missing out on the fun.
Edwards-Helaire was doing a walk for Daniel’s Leather at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday evening. The Daniel’s Leather Instagram account even shared a video of the Chiefs’ running back in his fashionable outfit:
Edwards-Helaire and the Chiefs redeemed themselves following back-to-back heartbreaking postseason losses. He was drafted less than three months after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54, but CEH was on the losing end of Super Bowl 55 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But the wait was well worth it. At last, Edwards-Helaire is now a Super Bowl champion.
Rookie Isiah Pacheco finished the season as the Chiefs’ lead running back, as Edwards-Helaire struggled with consistency and was limited to 10 game appearances on the year. Edwards-Helaire finished the season with 302 rushing yards, three touchdowns and 17 receptions for 151 receiving yards and three receiving scores.
