In the end, the Kansas City Chiefs allowed Tyreek Hill to choose his next destination, and Jets fans are going to be hurt by this information.
The Chiefs traded wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for five draft picks, including a first-rounder (No. 29 overall) in the 2022 draft. He would then receive a contract extension with the Dolphins following the trade. Included among the compensation for Hill is the No. 29 overall selection in this year’s draft, in addition to a second- and fourth-rounder in 2022 and a fourth- and sixth-rounder in 2023.
The Jets also had a deal in place, and the Chiefs accepted it, but Hill wanted Miami to continue his career.
“Jets trade offer to the Chiefs for Tyreek Hill – that Kansas City would have accepted if the WR opted for NY – did not include a first-round pick, but rather multiple picks that were commensurate to the Dolphins’ offer based on the draft value chart that teams use, per sources.”
Mike Garafolo confirms the Jets’ offer included both their second-round picks, No. 35 and No. 38, in lieu of one of their firsts in the top ten.

Hill hauled in 111 passes for 1,239 yards receiving and nine touchdowns last season, but we will have to wait and see if he can do the same amount of damage in Miami with Tua as his QB.
