Amid a disarray and confusing day at Halas Hall, the Chicago Bears have made a notable roster move.
According to ESPN’s Field Yates, the Bears have released veteran quarterback Nathan Peterman. The move comes three weeks after the journeyman signal-caller was signed to the club’s main roster.
The 29-year-old Peterman was on the Bears’ roster last year as well, making one start and appearing in three games altogether. He completed 14 of 25 pass attempts in those contests for a touchdown and one interception.
Peterman’s release from the Bears is just one of several news developments surrounding the Windy City’s football team. The main story, of course, is the sudden resignation of defensive coordinator Alan Williams, who made the announcement following reports that the FBI had raided his home.
It was reported earlier in the day that agents had also raided Halas Hall, the Bears’ official headquarters. This apparently wasn’t the case, however. Details about the raiding of Williams’ home are scarce at this time.

On top of that, quarterback Justin Fields made headlines when he seemingly called out Chicago’s coaches over his “robotic” play. Tensions are rather high for this once-proud franchise that finds itself 0-2 for the first time since 2016.
