Chicago punter Trenton Gill has seen better days and they usually involve moments where he does not have to make a touchdown-saving tackle.
With six minutes left in the opening period, the Chicago punter found himself as the last line of defense to try and bring down Carolina Panthers return man Ihmir Smith-Marsette as he ran toward the end zone.
Smith-Marsette fielded the ball at his own 24 and made it to Gill as the punter had a good enough angle to take him down.
Smith-Marsette pulled it a quick stop and stutter move that froze Gill just enough to stop his tackle attempt as he only got two hands on him before he ran away.
