The Chicago Bears tried really hard to trade for Russell Wilson, but luck wasn’t on their side at all.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday on Good Morning Football that Bears GM Ryan Pace and Seahawks GM John Schneider met and discussed a potential swap for the QB.
“The Bears certainly made a big offer — multiple first-round picks,” Rapoport said. “The Seahawks slept on it. They discussed it. Yesterday, they decided, specifically coach Pete Carroll, 70 years old, does not want to rebuild, decided we are not trading Russell Wilson to the Bears.”
The Dan Patrick Show revealed that it was three first-round picks, a 3rd-round pick, and two starters.

That refusal led the Bears to go ahead and sign QB Andy Dalton to a one-year, $10 million deal, with the chance for the quarterback to earn another $3 million in incentives.
