The Chicago Bears are reportedly leaning towards keeping the first overall pick in April’s 2024 NFL Draft.
Chicago obtained the first overall pick via the Carolina Panthers, who surrendered their 2024 first-round pick to the Bears so they could move up and take Bryce Young with the No. 1 selection in 2023.
The Bears have three options with the first overall pick. They can draft a QB and trade Justin Fields, deal away the top pick to the highest bidder or keep the No. 1 pick and select a non-quarterback (likely Marvin Harrison Jr.) and build around Fields.
Speaking on SportsCenter, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler stated that some sources informed him that Chicago is leaning towards using the No. 1 pick on a quarterback.
“I have talked to some people…who believe they will eventually land on a Caleb Williams or a quarterback at No. 1,” Fowler said.
Williams, the star USC quarterback and 2022 Heisman Trophy winner, is the consensus favorite to go first overall in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Bears still have three-and-a-half-months to make their decision on the No. 1 pick. They could be leaning towards keeping that selection for now, but that could always change if another team comes forward with an offer that GM Ryan Poles cannot refuse.
