The Chicago Bears are reportedly doing some intense homework on another top 2024 NFL Draft quarterback prospect today. And it’s not Caleb Williams.
According to a report from ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, the Bears sent “a sizable contingent” out west to Oregon for the football program’s Pro Day “to do their due diligence on” Ducks quarterback Bo Nix.
Cronin noted that the main “draw” is actually center Jackson Powers-Johnson, a potential target for the Bears with the No. 9 pick. Chicago owns the top selection in this year’s draft thanks to the Carolina Panthers, who surrendered the pick last year to move up and take Bryce Young with the top selection.
The Bears are widely expected to use the first overall pick on Williams and trade Justin Fields ahead of the draft. At this time, there’s no indication that Chicago has received an offer to their liking for the No. 1 pick.

Nix is widely projected to be a mid-to-late first-round pick in this year’s draft. He’s the consensus No. 5 QB in this class, behind Williams, North Carolina’s Drake Maye, LSU star Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels and Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy.
In his final season at Oregon, the 6-foot-2, 217-poud Nix completed 77.4 percent of his pass attempts and threw for 4,508 yards, 45 touchdowns (a career-best) and only three interceptions to go along with 234 rushing yards and six rushing scores.
