The San Francisco 49ers didn’t need long to provide a brutal injury update on superstar running back Christian McCaffrey following their ugly loss to the Buffalo Bills on ‘Sunday Night Football.’
Christian McCaffrey left the second quarter of Sunday’s snow-filled game after suffering a non-contact injury. The reigning rushing champion gave himself up and slid to the ground to avoid being tackled before leaving the game for good.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game that McCaffrey suffered a PCL injury that may be season-ending. “Run CMC” missed the first eight games of 2024 because of a calf/Achilles injury.

A Horrible Season Gets Worse For Christian McCaffrey & 49ers
Christian McCaffrey is, unfortunately, no stranger to the injury bug. The 28-year-old missed all but 10 games over the 2020 and 2021 seasons as a member of the Carolina Panthers. Sadly, this is already the third season where McCaffrey will have missed most of a campaign with injuries.
