The NFC East has the potential to be as thrilling as it was last season.
Chase Young needs a big year for the Washington Commanders to show that his value is enough for the franchise to keep holding on. Based on the latest video released of him, he is likely to have that big year in 2023, barring any unforeseen injuries.
The video below shows a shirtless Young looking in great shape as he runs through a series of drills while looking incredibly fast for a guy his size.
Young was tabbed as the next great pass-rushing phenom coming out of college. Winning NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, but a series of injuries and poor performances have thrown his aspirations into significant doubt over the last two seasons.
Since Young won the NFL defensive rookie of the Year award in 2020, he has just 1.5 sacks.
Washington decided to decline Young’s fifth-year option, making this season the final one of his rookie contract. Young missed 23 games before returning for the final three contests of 2022.
