A certain pass rusher is reportedly attracting lots of attention ahead of the trade deadline.
According to NFL insider Josina Anderson, several teams around the league are keeping an eye on Washington Commanders defensive end Chase Young as the trade deadline approaches.
The Commanders have struggled this season and are 3-4 in seven games. But the difficulties they’ve had so far have very little to do with their defensive front four. Young, who has dealt with injuries over the past few years, has been one of the more impressive defensive players in the league, having logged five sacks in five starts this term.
Interested teams are reportedly ready to offer the 24-year-old a long-term deal as he’s approaching free agency.
“Meanwhile, it is my understanding, that there are several identifiable teams that have [interest] in trading for [Chase Young] AND are willing to offer [a] long-term deal ahead of free agency,” Anderson reports.
Young was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in his first season, making the Pro Bowl after registering 7.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

As to whether the Commanders would be willing to trade him is left to be seen. But they would probably agree that tying him down to a new deal might be in their best interest.
