Chase Claypool was targeted twice in Sunday’s loss to the Packers. Based on his efforts, he deserved to not be in the game plan.
Entering the week, former Steelers draft pick Chase Claypool made it known that he’s about to have a breakout season with the Chicago Bears. In a new offense, he believed he was ready to take the league by storm. That storm started with a light drizzle.
The former second-round pick finished the game with no receptions after being targeted just twice in the Bears’ 38-17 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
Claypool was a non-factor in a game during which seven different Chicago players caught a pass. The veteran has reached 30 yards once over his last eight games with the Bears.
To make matters worse, footage shows him not giving much of an effort at all while on the field. It was multiple times.
Claypool is still searching for his first win as a member of the Chicago Bears.

In eight games with the team, he has recorded 14 catches for 140 yards and zero touchdowns. He is invisible out there.
The Bears are not getting what they were hoping to acquire in dealing for Claypool.
Claypool will look to be more of a factor and actually look like he cares when the Bears take on the Tampa Bay Bucs next Sunday on the road.
