The Chicago Bears are growing tired of being the whipping boys of the NFL.
That’s the statement that the coaching staff appears to be making ahead of today’s game against the similarly-winless Denver Broncos, as it was announced this morning that wide receiver Chase Claypool will be a healthy scratch.
Claypool, and the Bears as a whole, have had a disastrous start to the 2023 season. While Chicago is off to an 0-3 start and has showed absolute no signs of forward progress, Claypool has failed to come even close to living up to the second-round draft pick that the Bears traded away for his services.
In ten games with Chicago since being traded to the Windy City, Claypool has just 18 receptions for 191 yards and one touchdown. He will be replaced in the lineup by Equanimeous St. Brown, the older brother of Lions superstar wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown.
