NBA legend Charles Barkley has a “man crush” on a certain NFL head coach and has said so himself.
The Detroit Lions are on a dream run at the moment, having won the NFC North before booking their ticket to the NFC Title Game this weekend. And Barkley has become a huge fan, so much so, he’s got the hots for Dan Campbell (Pause).
Speaking to comedian and actor Keegan-Michael Key on CNN’s ‘King Charles’ this week, the Hall of Famer waxed lyrical over Detroit and their head coach.
“I fell in love with the Detroit Lions,” he remarked. “I have a man crush on Dan Campbell. I know nothing about Dan Campbell, but I played football one day; I want to play for Dan Campbell.”
While many of the cheers for Detroit are coming from entirely new sections of fans, including doubters, Barkley picked the Lions as his favorite storyline before the start of the season, revealing as much on ‘The Bill Simmons Podcast’.
If only he could do the same with his NBA picks. He has a knack for getting those wrong.

Meanwhile, the Lions will attempt to take down a very formidable San Francisco 49ers side when they clash on Sunday, with a Super Bowl appearance on the line.
