The Los Angeles Chargers Twitter account made light of a crappy situation on Thursday night, getting a laugh out of fans during one of the worst losses in recent memory.
This week’s ‘Thursday Night Football’ fixture saw the Chargers suffer a 63-21 defeat at the hands of the Las Vegas Raiders. The 42-point deficit ranks as the third-largest in team history.
They would not score until early in the third quarter – they were already down 49-0 by then. Quarterback Easton Stick threw a 79-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Palmer that the receiver could not celebrate as he would have just looked foolish. The Raiders seemed pretty bummed out despite being up by more than 40 points.
The team’s social media admin made the best of the embarrassing scoreline by posting a video of the TD with the caption “we scored.” They didn’t even bother going upper case.

The Chargers have been very poor this season and Brandon Staley’s days are believed to be numbered. But you can always trust the team’s Twitter account to lighten the mood, even under the worst circumstances.

As far as deficits go, the Chargers’ largest came against the New England Patriots when they lost by 45 in 2020 – they didn’t score a single point then. You’d have to go as far back as 1964 to find their second-largest, a 6-49 scoreline vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.
