The Los Angeles Chargers are considered one of the most cursed franchises in the NFL, and there are many moves the team has made to improve over the past couple of seasons. One of those moves was bringing in former Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh.
Even though the Chargers may be a mushy middle franchise, the AFC West club still has a lot of upside. It has drafted many current and future star players, including Joe Alt, Joey Bosa, and Justin Herbert.
The latter in that group is the team’s star signal caller, whom they drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft with their first-round selection. Jim Harbaugh seems to have some interesting ideas about using the Pro Bowl quarterback.
According to NFL insider Dov Kleiman, the former Michigan head coach has indicated that he may want to try his new toy at a different position, such as tight end or edge rusher after he crushed a conditioning test.

The odds are, however, that we never see Herbert playing on the defensive side of the ball, but we’d have to wonder what kind of stats the young gunslinger would put up. He had an impressive 2023, putting up over 3,100 yards and 20 touchdowns under center.
Only time will tell whether or not the young quarterback can improve on his 2023 statistics, but if Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh is to be believed, it seems as though Herbert will have no problem running the offense for all four quarters.
