Chandler Jones was fined $10,300 by the NFL for showing his under t-shirt depicting the late ex-Cardinal Freddie Joe Nunn, the player Jones passed to become the franchise’s all-time leader in sacks.
NFL Football Operation website states: “Only logos or brand names from the league’s official partners can be displayed. Players may wear other brands, as long as they remove or cover the name or logo.”
The Arizona Cardinals linebacker passed Nunn after he sacked San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo in Sunday’s game. It was his sixth of the season and No. 67 of his Cardinals career.
Nunn passed away on Oct. 16, 2021. He played for the franchise from 1985-93. His 66.5 sacks sat atop Cardinals history for 28 years.
