Chandler Jones is upset.
The Las Vegas Raiders defensive end took to his Instagram story on Tuesday upset that he was not able to use the team gym.
The veteran defensive end is unhappy not being able to get into the team gym and when he tried to reach out to general manager Dave Ziegler, he claims to have heard nothing back. He detailed the situation and he ended it by stating he did not want to play for the team anymore.
Jones said he doesn’t want to play for the Raiders if Ziegler and head coach Josh McDaniels remain employed. The Raiders open up the season against the Denver Broncos in a matter of days so having one of their most expensive and experienced players go rogue right now is not a good sign for the team that is trying to rebound from a terrible campaign in 2022.
Hopefully, this is just a huge misunderstanding and cooler heads will eventually prevail. The worst-case scenario is that Jones is serious about not wanting to work with Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler and won’t show up to play for the team.
After the team gave him a three-year, $51 million contract, he had just 4.5 sacks in 15 games and ended the season on the Injured Reserve. His bad play led to the team using the No. 7 pick on defensive end Tyree Willson.
