In the hours leading up to Floyd Mayweather’s boxing match against Jake Paul, it would be announced that former Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Johnson would also be stepping in the ring that same night on the undercard.
Per ProFootballTalk, there was talk of Johnson facing Adam “Pacman” Jones, but Chad had an issue with fighting him.
“Per the source, Johnson — who has agreed to be on the card — flatly refused to fight Jones.”
Johnson, a 6-time Pro Bowler, played only one season with Jones back in 2010.
It’s unclear why Johnson didn’t want to take on Jones. Maybe he remembers what Pacman did to a guy who tried to attack him at an airport a few years ago.

It’s likely to be a four- or six-round exhibition bout and the opponent has not been finalized, according to ESPN.com’s Cameron Wolfe, who added that the expectation is Johnson will face a celebrity or athlete rather than a pro boxer.
