The New York Giants couldn’t have started out there 2019 training camp any worse than it has in just a few days.
Just 72 hours into camp and the team has lost upwards of four wide receivers, three to injury, and one possibly to suspension.
Corey Coleman’s season came to an end after he suffered a torn ACL on Thursday. Sterling Shepard suffered a fractured thumb that will likely keep him out until Week 1. Darius Slayton is currently dealing with a hamstring injury.
To make matters worse, it was announced on Saturday that Golden Tate was facing a 4-game suspension for violating the NFL’s Performance Enhancing Substance Policy.
According to multiple reports, Tate will appeal the suspension.
In the meantime, Chad Johnson, who last played with the New England Patriots in 2011, would soon take to Twitter and remind the New York Giants that he is available if they need him.

Johnson may have been kidding, but former Giants wide receiver Corey Washington shared those same sentiments and he seemed serious.
It’s unlikely the Giants kick the tires on Johnson who is 41-years-old and has not played competitive football in eight years. Even still, he probably still has better footwork and route running ability at his age than anybody the Giants have remaining on the roster at WR.
