It’s been almost three years since Colin Kaepernick has played in the league, but his message can still be seen and heard from the people who have his back.
Aside from the many entertainers who shunned the league to play during halftime of the Super Bowl, many celebrities who stand beside the former San Francisco 49ers QB took to social media and announced they would not watch the Rams vs. Patriots Super Bowl.
Hours before the game, the hashtag “ImWithKap began trending on Twitter as one after another vowed to stand in solidarity with Kaepernick. Rapper Common, comedian Nick Cannon, film director Ava Duvernay and actress Jodie Turner-Smith were among the individuals to post a tweet including words of support for Kaepernick with the #ImWithKap hashtag.

During the 2016 campaign, then-49ers QB Colin Kaepernick caused an uproar around the country when he began kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem. The anger towards him seemed to get louder when he expressed that it wasn’t about the Anthem, but about standing for a country that treats minorities badly as well as how police treats African-American citizens.
Kaepernick has been a free agent ever since, which later forced him to file a grievance against NFL owners in 2017 and claimed they colluded to keep him out of the league.
