Dallas Cowboys superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb just dropped a major hint that he’s prepared to hold out if necessary.
According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, CeeDee Lamb is NOT expected to participate in the club’s voluntary offseason program on Monday. The 25-year-old is eligible for a contract extension after completing the fourth year of his rookie deal.
When a player wants a new contract, it’s common for them to skip events like voluntary offseason workouts and training camp. So if Lamb doesn’t get an extension in the coming weeks, it’ll be interesting to see if he ends up going through with a holdout.
Lamb, entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract, isn’t the only notable Cowboys star eligible for a new deal. 2021 first-round pick and star linebacker Micah Parsons completed the third year of his rookie pact and can now sign an extension at any time.

Star quarterback Dak Prescott is entering the last of a four-year extension he signed in the 2021 offseason. However, there are no indicators at this time that the two sides are working on a new deal.

Dallas Will Likely Pay CeeDee Lamb
It’s hard to envision a scenario where the Cowboys trade their best offensive playmaker, especially considering that they’re in win-now mode.
The big-bodied wide receiver is coming off a career year in which he caught 135 passes for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. This marked the third straight year in which Lamb exceeded the 1,000-yard mark. He’s already up to 5,145 career receiving yards in just four seasons.
Dallas hasn’t had a receiver as explosive as Lamb in years, and it’d be a giant mistake if Jerry Jones and company decided to trade the 2020 first-round pick. Lamb is a key part of the offensive nucleus, and replacing a player of his caliber is much easier said than done.
