The Dallas Cowboys took a butt-whooping at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers and things seem to be falling off the rails. A number of things went wrong in the Dallas Cowboys beatdown against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 5.
CeeDee Lamb was held in check by the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night during their 42-10 shellacking of the Dallas Cowboys as he caught just four catches for 49 yards on five targets.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is special but he is not putting up the numbers fans thought he would, especially in the last three weeks.
The star wideout is not happy with his role and he seemed to call out head coach Mike McCarthy as a result.
“What’s the identity of this offense?” “I don’t know,” Lamb said. “Should you [know] five weeks into the season?” “I guess so. I don’t know.” “How do you guys find it?” “I don’t know.”
The 24-year-old wide receiver’s targets have gone down for the third consecutive week since his season-high 11 catches on 13 targets in Week 2.

In his five games played this season, Lamb has been targeted just 35 times. He has caught 27 passes for 358 yards and just one touchdown pass. That is not nearly enough for a premiere wide receiver.
For comparison, he averaged over nine targets per game during his career year in 2022.
