Dallas Cowboys’ star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has fans buzzing after some recent social media activity.
Arizona Cardinals’ wideout Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown has been the subject of recent trade rumors, with the Oct. 31 trade deadline just around the corner. On his X (formerly Twitter) page, Lamb hinted at a potential Cowboys’ blockbuster trade by switching his banner to a photo of himself with Brown during their time together at Oklahoma.
The 26-year-old Brown is in the final year of his rookie contract. If Arizona isn’t keen on extending him long-term, then it only makes sense to trade Hollywood rather than lose him for nothing in 2024 free agency.
Despite the absence of starting quarterback Kyler Murray, Brown has recorded 25 receptions for 300 yards and three touchdowns through Arizona’s first five games. He’s currently on pace to surpass 1,000 yards receiving for just the second time in his career.
And Dallas could certainly use a playmaker of Brown’s caliber to take some of the pressure off of Lamb and running back Tony Pollard. Dallas has lacked a capable No. 2 receiver since trading Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns last year, as offseason acquisition Brandin Cooks has struggled to produce with his new team (nine catches for 73 yards).
For his career, Brown has 287 receptions for 3,370 yards and 27 touchdowns. He had his best season in 2021, when Brown hauled in 91 catches for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.
