With Super Bowl 58 now just over three months away, CBS is reportedly close to selling out its advertisement inventory for the big game.
Brian Steinberg of Variety heard from a source that CBS has “virtually sold out” its entire Super Bowl 58 advertisement inventory. Super Bowl 58 will be held at the Las Vegas Raiders’ home venue of Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada, on Feb. 11.
It was also noted that 30-second commercials cost around $6.5 million to $7 million each:
“The Paramount Global-backed network is “virtually sold out” of all its Super Bowl advertising inventory, according to a company spokesperson, completing a process that often isn’t completed until the final hours before the game kicks off in February. The company declined to make ad-sales executives available for additional comment.
CBS has sought between $6.5 million to $7 million for a 30-second ad, according to people familiar with negotiations. Fox secured around $600 million in advertising tied to its broadcast of Super Bowl LVII earlier this year — an event that boasted record viewership.”
Steinberg added that FOX, the network that broadcast Super Bowl 57, eyed $6-7 million for a 30-second commercial. The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the big game, held inside the Arizona Cardinals’ home venue of State Farm Stadium.
This season’s Super Bowl will be the first to take place in the state of Nevada; the Raiders relocated from Oakland to Las Vegas in the 2020 season. Allegiant Stadium was also the venue used for the 2022 and 2023 Pro Bowl events as well as WWE’s SummerSlam 2021 pay-per-view.
